

AUSTIN, Texas – No. 5 Texas Baseball’s Zach Zubia has been named the Big 12 Player of the Week after helping the Longhorns to a series win over No. 3 TCU, the league office announced Monday.
Zubia hit .333 while smashing three homers and registering a triple during the week. The junior drove in a team-high seven runs. In the series-clinching win over the Horned Frogs, the infielder went 3-for-5 with two homers and a two-run single to finish with four RBIs. He also extended his streak of reaching base safely to 26 games.
For the season, Zubia is batting .307 with eight doubles, three triples, nine homers and a team-high 47 RBI.
Texas returns to UFCU Disch-Falk Field for its final five regular season games, starting against Texas Southern on Tuesday, May 11 at 6:30 p.m.
