TEXARKANA — The Texas Association of Secondary School Principals has selected Pleasant Grove High School associate principal Zach Fowler for their Region 8 outstanding principal of the year award.
The nominations are based on recommendations from their peers within the region, and are based on exemplary performance and leadership.
As a Region 8 winner, Fowler is eligible to compete for the state title of assistant principal of the year, competing against other nominees in all 20 regions.
Each of the region winners will be recognized during the Josten’s Night of the Stars Award Ceremony held in conjunction with the TASSP Summer Conference. Each will be presented with an award and recognized in a commemorative book called: Texas Principals, Texas Heroes.
The former Southern Arkansas graduate earned his master of education from Lamar University, and is a 2021 Leadership Texarkana class member.
Fowler, who has been an administrator for five years, is also an active PGYA coach and a Dixie Baseball coach. Fowler and his wife, Kirby, have two children: Daxton (8) and Gavin (6).
