ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Texas catcher Jose Trevino delivered a big blow after his battery mate’s final pitch. Trevino hit a tiebreaking two-run homer in the bottom of the sixth inning. That pushed right-hander Kyle Gibson and the Rangers to a 4-1 win over the Boston Red Sox in the opener of a four-game series. The Red Sox had only three hits. It was their fourth game in a row with five or less, though the AL East leaders had won the previous three. Isiah Kiner-Falefa also homered for Texas. Former Rangers lefty Martin Pérez took the loss.
