Today’s Probable Starter: RHP Cole Winn The RoughRiders swept Wednesday’s doubleheader against the Corpus Christi Hooks in Frisco, securing sole possession of first place in the Double-A Central, South Division. The ‘Riders rode starter LHP Jake Latz (W, 5.0 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 6 SO) to a 3-1 victory in Game 1, as he retired his first 10 batters faced to open the contest before issuing a walk in the 4th inning. CF Bubba Thompson (2-for-4, RBI, R) recorded the lone multi-hit showing by a Frisco batter in the matinee, including a go-ahead RBI single in the 4th. Thompson added another single in Game 2 to extend his hitting streak to 4 games. RHP Tyler Phillips (5.0 IP, 2 H, 1 R-ER, 0 BB, 7 SO, 1 HR) earned the win for the RoughRiders in the nightcap, as Frisco pitchers combined to allow a total of 6 hits over the course of the twin bill. Both ‘Riders runs were scored in the 2nd inn., keyed by a leadoff double from SS Ryan Dorow, who finished 3-for-5 with 2 doubles on the day. RHP Scott Engler set down 6 of 7 BF (4 SO) over 2.0 SHO IP to notch his first save of the season.
HICKORY CRAWDADS – W, 3-1 VS. WINSTON-SALEM

Today’s Probable Starter: LHP Cody Bradford The Crawdads improved to .500 after last night’s 3-1 victory over Winston-Salem in Hickory. The ‘Dads scored all 3 runs in the 3rd inning: CF Miguel Aparicio (1-for-3, RBI, R) connected for his first HR of the season, SS Jonathan Ornelas recorded a double, and 1B Jake Guenther and 3B Frainyer Chavez both added RBI. LHP Cole Ragans made his 2nd start of 2021, holding Winston-Salem to just one run on 3 singles (4.0 IP, 2 BB, 5 SO). RHP Tai Tiedemann (4.0 SHO IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 4 SO) received the win in relief, while RHP Nick Snyder fanned 2 of 3 BF in the 9th to earn his 2nd save of the season.
