Today’s Probable Starter: OFF DAY Round Rock was limited to 2 singles in an 11-0 loss to El Paso on Tuesday night, finishing with a 3-3 split in the 6-game series against the Chihuahuas. 1B Curtis Terry and C Yohel Pozo collected the hits, as Terry ranks among Triple-A West leaders in HR (T2nd, 8), H (T5th, 34), TB (5th, 64), RBI (T6th, 23), SLG (8th, .627), OPS (10th, 1.026), and BA (10th. 333). Starting LHP Wes Benjamin took the loss (3.0 IP, 3 R-ER) in his 1st start since being optioned to the minor leagues by Texas.

FRISCO ROUGHRIDERS – L, 7-6 VS NW ARKANSAS Double-A Central, South Division (18-12, 1st, – GB)

Today’s Probable Starter: LHP Sal Mendez Frisco was edged by Northwest Arkansas, 7-6, on Tuesday night in the series opener.

DH Steele Walker, 3B Sherten Apostel, and 1B Dio Arias each hit solo home runs for the ‘Riders, with Walker and Apostel finishing with 3 hits apiece. Walker has 4 HR and 8 RBI over his last 9 games, leading the club in both run production categories for the season (6 HR/18 RBI). Apostel posted a season-high 3 RBI and is 5-for-11 in last 3 contests. Starting RHP Cole Winn was the losing pitcher (3.2 IP, 5 R-ER) after allowing 3 home runs, including 2 against highly-touted Royals prospects 3B Bobby Witt Jr. and 1B Nick Pratto. The Crawdads were postponed on Tuesday night due to inclement weather, and a doubleheader is scheduled for Thursday, June 10. Hickory will return to action tonight against Greensboro at 7:00pm.

The Woodies were shut out on Tuesday night, 3-0, in the series opener against the Woodpeckers. The Down East offense managed only 4 singles and 4 walks, all by the top 4 hitters in the batting order. CF Evan Carter, 1B Dustin Harris, and C Cody Freeman each reached base twice. LF Jayce Easley stole his 16th base, good for T2nd in the Low-A East. As a team, Down East leads Low-A and ranks 4th in all of minor league baseball with 68 stolen bases. Starting RHP John Matthews took his 1st loss in a short outing (2.0 IP, 1 R-ER), and LHP Josh Smith was solid in relief (3.0 IP, 0 R, 4 SO).
