AUSTIN, Texas — No. 2 Texas Baseball’s Mitchell Daly has been named to the Collegiate Baseball Freshman All-America team, the organization announced Wednesday.
Daly is second on the team in hitting with a .323 batting average and 60 hits in his first season on the Forty Acres. He has 14 doubles, two homers, 31 RBI and 32 runs scored to go with six stolen bases.
The Madison, Ala., product took over the starting second base job in early March and never let it go. He has reached base safely in 48 of the 52 games he has started this season with 15 multi-hit games.
Texas turns its attention to the NCAA Austin Super Regional, where it will face South Florida in a best-of-three series with a trip to the College World Series on the line.
