TAPD investigating shooting at Fox Creek Apartments

TEXARKANA — The Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD) is investigating a shooting that occurred at the Fox Creek Apartments at around 7:00 p.m. Monday.

The apartments are located at 4303 County Avenue.

According to police, they received a call of a 22-year-old male who had been shot in the leg. When officers arrived, they discovered the victim sitting in a vehicle with an apparent gunshot wound to his upper left leg.

Police say the victim was transported to a local hospital via ambulance where he received treatment for a non-life-threatening injury.

The victim was unable to give much information on a suspect or a suspect vehicle, police say. However, TAPD officers and detectives spoke with possible witnesses at the apartment complex.

The Fox Creek Apartments were the site of a shooting homicide last month of a 40-year-old man from Chicago, Illinois.

Police say the shooting of the 22-year-old male on June 7 is still under investigation. Anyone with any information is asked to call the TAPD’s criminal investigation division at 903-798-3154 or Crime Stoppers at 903-793-7867.
