Bowie County reports 47 total COVID-19 deaths

TEXAKANA — The Bowie County emergency operations center reported a total of 47 COVID-19 deaths since the pandemic began.

According to the emergency operations center, there have been 779 total coronavirus cases since the pandemic began with 323 recoveries. The emergency operations center says there are 409 active cases being traced in the county.

Anyone who has tested positive or any healthcare provider that conducts such testing should notify the local health authority at 903-255-5560.

The free testing at the Bowie-Texarkana Health Department is still ongoing through Saturday, Aug. 15. The hours of operation are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 902 West 12th Street in Texarkana. Register at gogettested.com or onsite. No symptoms are required. Call 903-255-5560 for any questions.
